Casting Call: Charlie and the Chocolate Factory

Auditions will take place at the rehearsal studios at the Imperial Theatre on Friday, November 13th, beginning at 6:00pm for ages 16+, and Saturday, November 14th, beginning at 10:00am for ages 15 and under and 1:00pm for ages 16+. Call-backs will be on Sunday, November 15th in the afternoon if needed.

Notes on Casting:  We are committed to creating an inclusive environment and are only limited by your imagination. Gender of the characters are determined by the script and the script rights holder but it is up to you if you can convince us in your ability to play the role.

If you are interested in auditioning, please fill out this audition form. You will be contacted no less than three days before auditions with your individual audition time and dance call information. Auditions are open to anyone 10 years of age or older. Please view our list of available roles and character descriptions at this link HERE. We are asking all prospective auditionees to prepare one song for the character you wish to audition for from the vocal selection provided and one song choice of your own about a minute long, i.e. a verse and a chorus. An accompanist will be provided however you may also use a backing track for your personal song choice (please no backing track where we can hear the vocal). Some auditionees may be asked to do a vocal range test or a cold read after their vocal audition. This is a musical, there will be some dancing, but don't let deter you as some of the characters only need to do some basic movement based on your abilities. Please make sure you wear comfortable clothing that you can move in easily and bring a pair of indoor shoes with you (running shoes, jazz shoes, or ballet shoes are fine. No socks or bare feet please). Auditionees who are asked to come in for call-backs will be notified Saturday evening after auditions are complete.

REHEARSAL/PERFORMANCE INFORMATIONRehearsals will take place on Tuesdays and Thursdays 6:30pm to 9:30pm and Sundays 1:00pm to 4:00pm, beginning on Tuesday January 26th 2027. We will be having an information night where cast will get their scripts, measurements, etc. on December 5th 2026. All rehearsals will take place in the rehearsal studios at the Imperial Theatre with the possible exception of having some time on the stage.

Performances will be on: May 7th, 8th, 12th, 13th, and 14th at 7:30pm. There will be two matinees on May 9th and 15th at 2:00pm. and one school matinee on May 13th. Tech week will take place from May 2nd - 6th. Cast attendance is mandatory at all nights of tech week and all performances.
