Imperial Theatre PRESENTS CASTING CALL: DISNEY'S LITTLE MERMAID

AUDITION INFORMATION
Auditions will take place at the rehearsal studios at the Imperial Theatre on Friday, November 24th, beginning at 6:00pm for ages 16+, and Saturday, November 25th, beginning at 12:30pm for ages 9-15 and 5:00pm for ages 16+. Callbacks will be on Thursday, November 30th in the evening. PLEASE NOTE: the Saturday evening portion will have parts of the audition filmed for Theatre Sarnia's 100th year documentary that is currently in production. Individual singing portions will not be filmed, only the group dance call and some waiting room footage. If auditioning in this time block, we will require you to sign a release waiver (if you are under 18 your parent/guardian will need to sign one for you).
If you are interested in auditioning, please fill out this audition form. You will be contacted no less than one day before auditions with your individual audition time and dance call information. Auditions are open to anyone 9 years of age or older. Please note there is only one role, Flounder, for a young performer in this show. All other roles are designed for performers age 14 and up. We are asking all prospective auditionees to prepare TWO excerpts from the provided audition pieces. These may be two excerpts from the same character or from two different characters. An accompanist will be provided. All vocal sections, along with a list of all pieces, can be found in the linked folder.
Some auditionees may be asked to do a vocal range test or a cold read after their vocal audition. All auditionees will need to participate in the dance call, either before or after their vocal audition. Please make sure you wear comfortable clothing that you can move in easily and bring a pair of indoor shoes with you (running shoes, jazz shoes, or ballet shoes are fine. No socks or bare feet please). Auditionees who are asked to come in for callbacks will be notified Saturday evening after auditions are complete.
REHEARSAL/PERFORMANCE INFORMATION
Rehearsals will take place on Monday, Thursday, and Sunday evenings from 6:30pm – 9:30pm, beginning on Monday, February 12th. All rehearsals will take place in the rehearsal studios at the Imperial Theatre.
Performances will be on: May 24th, 25th, 29th, 30th, 31st, and June 1st at 7:30pm. There will be one Sunday matinee on May 26th at 2:00pm and one school matinee on Thursday, May 30th (time TBC). There is also the possibility of adding a matinee performance on May 25th at 2:00pm. Tech week will take place from Thursday, May 16th – opening night on Friday, May 24th. Cast attendance is mandatory at all nights of tech week and all performances.
